1.Aomori-Nebuta Festival

There is Aomori city at north of Honshu island. In summer, it is so cool
and so comfortable. Aomori city is famous for good nature, tasty apples,
and Nebuta festival.
At Nebuta festival, we can see many "huge"floats. They are decorated and illuminated,.
Largest float has over 10m(33feets) length and width. They are drawn by many people.

This is a float. These decorations are historical scenes and men.
Around floats, there are thouthands of people dancing. Of course,
Many visitor join. I heard 500 thouthand people visit Aomori city
at a Nebuta Festival.

Around Aomori, there aren't so many people living. There are no much traffic,
we can enjoy riding. This picture was taken by rider I met at Aomori.
He had ridden Suzuki GSX-1100 Katana, and was so fast.

2.Kurikoma Highland

North of Honshu island, there are large forests. Bears, Deer, and many animals
are living. I'm living around Tokyo , where developed entirely. So these deep forests
are so exciting for me. Around Kurikoma Highland, there are deep forests.
But I was surprised that there are good winding which has good condition.
I mention there are many hot spas.
RETURN

3.Noto Peninsula

Noto area is not developed yet, so we can see good nature. There are road round
peninsula, we can ride around. But Road isn't wide and not maintained well,
So it's not for big-tourer like Kawasaki 1100. Well, because of road,
good nature and calm farms remain, I think.
RETURN

4.Nikko

There is famous old building named Nikko-Toshougu. At 17th century, Tokugawa
Shogun made it. It is gorgeous and glittering. Tokugawa Shogun made Edo-Bakufu
(Tokugawa shogunate) in 1600, and its shogunate last over 270 years.
To visit there, we can see how much power Tokugawa had in these days.
There is famous winding road named IROHAZAKA. IROHA is old order of Japanese
Kana characters like AIUEO. It's like Alphabet in English. Kana characters are
composed of almost 50 characters. Maybe people named it because there are
over 50 corners at IROHAZAKA.
RETURN

5.Mt.Myogi

Around Mt.myogi, they say there are different geological features.
Therefore, Mt.Myogi looks so rocky. To approach this there, we can ride
good windings. But traffic may be little much. We can climb to top for 1.5 hour.
Helmet holder of my Ducati didn't work well, so I had to hold to climb.
Top is so rocky, so I had to climb using attached chain. I had to put my helmet
to my head to using chain! Though it must be safer.
RETURN

6.Mt.Fuji

There are good roads around Mt.Fuji. I recommend Fujisan-Skyline.
It is on high altitude(over 1000m,3300ft), so it's cool even in summer.
We can climb up to 2300m(6900ft) height using this road. Not only we can feel
cool, but also can get good scenery. Of course, it's best place to watch stars.
In fall, woods turn red and it's so beautiful. By the way, this picture was taken
in December. It was very cold and road were frozen! we were so afraid to ride!

There is good winding named OTOME-DORO. Otome means girl, but I don't know
how it was named. We can go to Mt.Fuji from Hakone highland using Otome-doro.
It often foggy around Fuji in the morning. When we ride there, we can feel that
we are diving into sea around Fuji island.
I mention there are good museums about cars.
RETURN

7.Hakone

There are good windings around Hakone, too. In the age of Tokugawa shogunate,
there were a barrier station. Now a days it's famous as a resort.
There is a lake named ASHINOKO and there are windings (including toll road).
Many drivers come to drive Hakone, Interestingly, roads they drive are divided
by the cars they own. At ASHINOKO-tollroad, Porsche, Ferrari, and other high-class
sport car gathers. At national route 1, there is a place where "Drift freaks" gathers.

When I went to a place for drift freaks, I saw 3 cars crashed.

This picture was taken at IZU-Skyline. It 's good winding and we can see good
scenery, so it's my favorite way to ride. Corners are not so tight and there are
very various kind of corners. I go there often, so I can see my riding condition
to ride there.

Around IZU-Skyline, There are hot spa, golf courses and good resorts.
Sometimes it's much traffic, so I often go in the morning(about 5A.M.).
RETURN

8.Kirigamine highland

Kirigamine means "misty mountain", so it often mist. But when I went, it was
so fine. Corners are easy, it's cool in the summer. There is sky grand there,
so many people visit there through a year. Of course, riders don't visit in winter!
RETURN

9.Takayama(Little Kyoto)Noto Peninsula

Takayama has another name "Little Kyoto", it has historic buildings and remain
old style in the city. This picture, it's a small path in the city. Around Takayama
city, there are good winding. We can climb up to Mt.Norikura, its toll road reaches
up to 2700m(8100ft) height, and we can climb to top(3200m) on our feet.

I went riding bicycle, it was so challenging but fun. At windings around Takayama,
there is few gas station, so we should make sure about our gas.

Near Norikura, there are hot spas. It's Shirahone hot spa.
RETURN

10.Shimanto River

Shimanto river show us a deep green color. Along the river, there are tight road.
It's not maintained well, so big tourers are not suitable for there. Off-roaders are
best. It's hard to this picture, we can see a bridge across the river over there.
This bridge was made by stone(or concrete) and has no guardrail. Sometimes
this river rises, so people didn't attach guardrails not to be carried away.
May be there is no techniques to make strong bridge before.
Bridges are so near the river surfaces, so I was afraid to stand there.
